We are coming off a few busy weeks of fundraising and settling back into school routines. Thank you for your support and patience with all of the communications coming at you. 

Thank you for your amazing support of our 2026 Fun Run Campaign. Your generosity, volunteer hours, kindness, and school spirit made this year's event a huge success. We enjoyed cheering for all our amazing students as they ran, walked, skipped, and cartwheeled through laps all day long. 

We still have multiple events coming up, which means there are many opportunities to volunteer and get involved if you're interested! Please keep reading and join our upcoming PTO meeting on October 22 to learn more.

Story Cupboard is back for the Fall Book Fair! Teacher Wishlists will also be available; items purchased for wishlists receive 20% off. French and Spanish Books available. 

Join us for Books & Bagels on Tuesday, October 27 from 7:15-8:15am! 

During our Book Fair, we invite families to bring photos of loved ones and offerings to add to the Dia de los Muertos ofrenda. These will be displayed during the Book Fair and at Fall Festival. 

Students are invited to wear costumes to school on Friday, October 30. In celebration, we will be hosting: 

• A costume parade, which parents are welcome to attend. More information coming. 
• Additionally, students unlocked the Glow Dance Party through their Fun Run fundraising. We will be celebrating in costume so get ready to boogie! 
• P.S. - don't throw away your pumpkins! Pumpkin Composting will be back at JRES from October 31 - November 13. 

Families are invited to join Fall Fest, happening at JRES November 6 from 4-7pm. Family fun for all ages, including a dunk tank, face painting, crafts, and games, food, drinks, and prizes. 

Additionally, the PTO is excited to host the first-ever JRES Scarecrow Walk. Each classroom will create a scarecrow to display at the Fall Festival on November 6th. The crowd favorite wins a prize and keeps the Scarecrow Trophy in their classroom for the year. 

If you'd like to donate clothing for the scarecrows, please bring to the front office by October 23. 

Missoula Children’s Theater is back this fall! JRES PTO is excited to host a one week, pop-up musical produced by the Missoula Children’s Theater, a non-profit theater program. This program is held after school at JRES during a one week program, culminating in a performance on Saturday, November 21st at 4PM at Ecker Hill Middle School. 

Look for a detailed letter home at the end of October with steps for pre-registration.
